Community Service Project

LITTLETON, CO – AUGUST 15, 2019: Moms love to support schools and this group of moms is no different, except for one thing – they are all business owners who want to give a little something back to their community. On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, members from the west Littleton SHE Leads Group and other surrounding chapters of this multi-chapter networking organization in Denver donned garden gloves and went on foot with garbage bags to clean up the Westridge Elementary School grounds and do other projects the school had lined up for SHE Leads Group. Members of the group also participated in a school supply drive for Westridge Elementary School.

Most members of SHE Leads Group are busy moms and full-time business owners. As such, they rarely have time to take on community outreach projects. West Littleton member, Erin Glombecki of RE/MAX Professionals had the idea to give up her 10-minute scheduled member presentation time at the August 13 meeting if Beth Boen, Founder of SHE Leads Group, would agree to using all of the meeting time to do a community service project. Beth explained, “When Erin approached me with this idea, I was 100% on board. Many of our members in our annual survey indicated they wanted to do something just like this. Erin and I brainstormed what we could do that would fit into our normal meeting time and I approached Westridge Elementary School to see if we could help them beautify the landscape before their meet and greet for the new school year.” SHE Leads Group supplied members who participated with gloves and garbage bags. Another SHE member, Suzanne Mitchell of Zamar Screen Printing provided all the women with pink SHE T-Shirts, and Donna Kidd with For Motion Auto Brokers and Erin Glombecki supplied water and snacks for the volunteers. “What a great group of generous women who want to come together and help the community.” stated Beth Boen.

The letters S H E stand for Supporting Heart (our families) and Enterprise (our business). SHE Leads Group is a unique group of women who love to support one another and the community. Another part of SHE Leads Group’s community outreach is allowing non-profit organizations who support women and children to come to any of the SHE Leads Group meetings and at their first meeting take 5 minutes to tell the members what they are trying to do in the community and how the members can help their non-profit organization.  Non-profits are welcome to attend as many SHE Leads Group meetings as they wish at no charge. Dru Ahlborg, Executive Director of Bullying Recovery Resource Center (BRRC) states, “Beth Boen has been so gracious and has invited me to attend as many events as I want. She also provides BRRC with a complimentary ticket to their special quarterly business development training meetings that typically sells out and has a wait list.” SHE Leads Group has helped other organizations with food drives and clothing drives.
