Empower Synergy Sessions

Beginning in January 2025

Do you ever feel unmotivated, unproductive, or frustrated with having to do an undesirable task on your to-do list? Do you sometimes get lonely working alone? Need a little motivation and accountability with other peers? Many of us experience some or all of these feelings on a regular basis.

We have the perfect solution for you! Introducing Empower Synergy Sessions – a virtual co-working space designed specifically for women just like you.

In these sessions, you’ll work alongside other driven women, creating a sense of community and accountability.

What to Expect at Empower Synergy Sessions:

  1. At the top of each hour, we will introduce ourselves and state what we want to accomplish in the next 50 minutes. Think about what you want to get done in 50 minutes. It shouldn’t be the day-to-day easy, likeable tasks that you enjoy doing. It should be something you are dreading, don’t find exciting to do, maybe have been procrastinating, or something you just need accountability to complete. When stating your list of what you want to accomplish, keep it high-level and brief, so we can get to everyone within in the first 10 minutes.

  2. We work for 50 minutes and at the end of the 50 minutes, we get to toot our horn about what we accomplished.

FAQ’s:

Do I need to attend the entire 2 hours?
No. Come for both or only one of the two hours. It is best to join on time at the top of the hour.

Can I pop in at any time during the two hours?
Yes. If you pop in after the top of the hour, our moderator will invite you to a breakout room so you can let her know what you want to accomplish.

What if I have questions about what I am trying to accomplish or just want to brainstorm it with someone?
At the top of each hour after introductions, if you have something you want to quickly brainstorm or ask a quick question, you can request the moderator to join you in a breakout room. Keep in mind the moderator is there to also get work done. This is not intended to be a free consulting session.

Why are sessions 50-minutes at a time?
Studies show that our brains need a break after 50 minutes of work. Having a set time to do a specific task can also help us avoid the urge to multi-task. Multi-tasking is actually proven to be less productive for most people. Time blocking and including similar tasks in that time period can also help improve productivity.

When are Empower Synergy Sessions?

As we get this new service started, we will offer these three times a month. As we see what sessions are well attended and perhaps those that are least attended, these times and frequency may change.

  • 2nd Wednesday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MT (12:30-2:30 p.m. ET)
  • 3rd Mondays of every month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. MT (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET)

Registration Required

SHE Members use your promo code to sign up for free. If you sign up and are unable to attend, please let us know a minimum of an hour prior to the session. "Swallow the Frog"

The phrase "swallow the frog" or "eat the frog" is a metaphor that refers to a productivity strategy of completing your most difficult task first. The idea is that by completing the most challenging task early in the day, the rest of your day will seem easier by comparison.

Here are some benefits of "eating the frog":

  • Reduces procrastination
  • You're more likely to procrastinate on difficult tasks, so completing them first can help you avoid procrastination
  • Boosts confidence
  • Finishing the most difficult task first can give you a sense of relief and raise your confidence level
  • Sets a positive tone
  • Completing the most important task first can help you start your day off on a positive note
  • Improves time management
  • Completing the most difficult task first can help you improve your scheduling and time management

The phrase is often attributed to Mark Twain, who is said to have said, “If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first”.
